This page is a plain English checklist for anyone shopping for original UK punk posters, gig flyers, and handbills on the web. It is written to match how Punk Rock Posters lists stock, but the habits here will help you on other sites too.
Stock turns over throughout the year. If you want an early heads-up, join the mailing list from the newsletter page.

What to look for in photos and text
- Edges and corners. Ticks, pinholes, and soft corners are normal on venue paper. You want those called out in the copy, not hidden by tight crops.
- Ink and paper. Late 1970s UK work was often cheap stock. Look for plate wear, slight off-register colour, and age toning rather than a suspiciously clean laser edge.
- Scale clues. A ruler in frame, a standard record sleeve, or a known object helps you judge true size before you buy.
- Date and venue line. Typo variants and reprints exist. Cross-check band name spellings, support acts, and the venue name against published gig histories when you can.
Six steps before you pay
- Read the listing twice, then open the catalog categories that sit closest to your item so you understand how condition is described on this site.
- Save the main image and zoom in. Soft blur can hide creases, while harsh flash can look like damage. Ask for another angle if you are unsure.
- Check postage class and tube policy. Large UK posters should travel rolled, not folded, unless the listing clearly states a folded item.
- Confirm totals in GBP if you are overseas, and note any insurance option for higher values.
- If the piece is rare, send a short note through the contact form with the URL of the listing so availability can be confirmed before you check out.
- Keep a copy of the order email and the listing text on the day of purchase. That snapshot helps if the item differs from what was offered.
After your poster arrives
Unpack over a clean surface. Let a cold tube warm to room temperature before you lift the print out, then relax curl on acid-free tissue if you plan to frame soon. Store flat only when the paper is relaxed, and avoid adhesive tapes on the face of the poster.
For refunds, postage rules, and payment types, the FAQ on this site stays the short reference. When you want first notice of new stock, use the newsletter page linked from the Punk Rock Posters homepage.
